Why your pricing page loses people

The short version: Your pricing page is where interest becomes revenue or quietly evaporates. Most pages lose people not on the number itself but on how the number is framed. Three behavioural fixes: anchor it, simplify the choice, and make the value legible. Here they are.

Founders obsess over the price and ignore the page. But two brands can charge the same and convert completely differently, because pricing is not just a number. It is a decision, and decisions are shaped by how the options are presented. Behavioural economics has known this for decades.

Fix 1: Give the price something to stand next to

A price alone has no meaning. A price next to a bigger one does. Show your premium pricing first, or the cost of the problem you remove, so your actual price reads as reasonable by comparison. This is anchoring, and it works even when people know it is happening.

Fix 2: Offer fewer choices, not more

More tiers feels generous and converts worse. Faced with too many options, people do not choose carefully, they freeze and leave. Guide them to one recommended plan and mark the obvious choice clearly.

Fix 3: Price the outcome, not the features

A list of features invites the buyer to add up parts and haggle. A clear outcome invites them to weigh the result against the cost. “Everything you need to X” beats a spec sheet, because people pay for a better situation, not a longer list.

None of these are tricks. They remove friction from a decision the buyer already wants to make. And if people bail on your pricing page no matter what you try, the value probably was not clear enough before they arrived, which is a positioning problem, not a pricing one.

If your pricing page is where deals go to die, book a strategy session and we will fix the framing.
